Men’s
Story Night
What We Don’t Say About Sex & Connection
A live event creating a safe, respectful space for men to share real stories about sex, intimacy, relationships, and the challenges of being human. Women and other guests are invited as listeners.

Not a lecture.
Not therapy.
A conversation.
At a time when many men report increasing loneliness, declining relationship satisfaction, and fewer opportunities for meaningful connection, Men’s Story Night invites honest conversations about experiences that often remain private.
“The evening is not a lecture, therapy session, or panel discussion. It is a community storytelling experience grounded in curiosity, respect, and authentic human connection.”
Through short personal stories, men explore what has shaped their experience of intimacy — what has been difficult, surprising, or meaningful along the way. Women and other guests are invited to attend as listeners, creating an opportunity to hear perspectives that are often unspoken rather than debated.
This event focuses on the stories behind sex and relationships — not explicit details, advice, or ideology. Participants are encouraged to speak honestly about their lived experience, while listeners are invited to listen with curiosity and openness.
Stories that open
conversations.
Participants are invited to speak to any experience that feels true and meaningful to them. These prompts are offered as starting points — not requirements.
“What has shaped your experience of intimacy?”
“What do you wish others understood about your experience as a man?”
“How have sex, connection, and relationships influenced your life?”
“What has been difficult, surprising, or meaningful along the way?”
Honest. Respectful. Human.
Stories, not opinions
This is not a debate or a panel. It is personal storytelling — lived experience shared honestly, without performance or agenda.
Men speak, everyone listens
Men share stories from their own experience. Women and other guests attend as listeners — creating space to hear perspectives that are rarely spoken aloud.
No expertise required
You don’t need to be articulate, resolved, or certain. You just need a story — and the willingness to share it in a room full of people who want to listen.
Safe and facilitated
The evening is guided by a facilitator committed to maintaining a space that is respectful, curious, and free from judgment.
Community — not content
This is not a course or a workshop. It is a gathering of people who believe that honest conversation about human experience is valuable in itself.

Part of something
larger.
Men’s Story Night is part of NHRI’s broader initiative exploring connection, intimacy, and social disconnection in modern life. The event serves both as a community-building experience and as a way of identifying themes that may help inform future research, education, and interventions aimed at reducing loneliness and strengthening relationships.
As a registered Canadian charity, NHRI is committed to building the evidence base for human connection — and to creating spaces where that evidence can take root in real communities.
